Summary of responsibilities
We are a B-certified financial advisory practice that focuses on value aligned investing.
We are seeking the right candidate to join our team! This position provides customer service support to the advisor’s clients in the day-to-day operations of the firm. This position is geared towards an individual who is on the track to becoming a Financial Advisor. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainable investing and demonstrate an eagerness to learn.
Principal responsibilities
- Help Advisor prepare for meetings, including the following:
- Establish and define the client/advisor relationship
- Gather data, including goals
- Analyze and evaluate financial status
- Develop and present financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives
- Implement financial planning recommendations
- Monitor the financial planning recommendations
- Generate YourStake reports as requested
- Engage in the B-Hive and B-certification process with our guidance
- Analyze clients’ income and asset situation, as requested; at least once annually, review and update financial situation
- Assist Advisors with proactive client communication
- Comply with all FINRA/SEC/Commonwealth compliance regulations; satisfy continuing education requirements
- Meet with clients to complete paperwork; ensure all required forms are completed fully and accurately. Ownership of generation, completion, submission and tracking of all paperwork efficiently.
- Maintain CRM system to ensure accuracy and maximize effectiveness of data
- Manage and resolve client service problems
- Generate reports, such as position statements, for advisor’s meetings with clients.
- Regularly review Commonwealth news items, technology updates, and e-mail communications; report pertinent information back to advisor
- Provide total office coverage in the absence of other staff members.
- Conduct research on Yourstake (value aligned investing research), COMMunity Link® or other reporting tools as directed by the advisor.
- Assist with seminars as directed by the advisor.
- Provide administrative support, including:
- Maintain updated client contact records using CRM system.
- Follow up on outstanding transactions with Commonwealth (e.g., transfers).
- Maintain up-to-date organized client files, including copies of all signed applications and forms, according to Commonwealth’s Compliance requirements.
- Prepare and send outgoing mail.
Required knowledge/skills/competencies
- BA or BS preferred
- Three years of experience in the investment/insurance industry; experience working with National Financial Services (NFS) processes and forms a plus
- Exceptional customer service experience
- Proficiency with computer programs, including MS Word and Excel, CRM systems
- Ability to interact with people across all levels of the business
- Attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Sophisticated organizational skills
- Familiarity with basic value aligned/sustainable investing principles
- A self-starter who can work independently
